“Essential oil for stress relief? Do you even believe that?” That was my reaction when I was searching for stress relief and depression solutions. Yup, it’s me the one who doesn’t believe such things and judge books from the covers “not anymore”.
Well if you are new to my blog then I should probably tell you that I’m a single mom and stress with depression was turning my days into total darkness. But as much depressed as I was, I tried my best to lift my mood and live a happy life.
In this post, you read about single mothers struggles and how to solve them
I searched online for many things and methods, they said: food, essential oils, and physical activities. I knew that my parents and family were suffering watching me depressed and down most of the time. My kids needed me and with my troubled mood, things weren’t easy.
I’ve done my best and searched, tried and applied methods to feel better. Things worked great and things weren’t showing the actual change.
But in the end, we all know that not everything applies to everyone, and effects show varied levels on different people. But hey, whatever doesn’t work for you will not kill you.
Nevertheless, these solutions are for early and mid-stages of depression, help stress, and exhaustion. I’m not a doctor so if you need extra help medically, you should probably consult a doctor.
Also, this post contains a method that might affect the breathing system if you have medical issues.
Now then let’s start by figuring out the problem and find the solution.
What is putting you off and depressing you?
Well If you are facing problems as a single mother, or any mother, or working ….etc you should first know the cause and try to solve it.
We are overdoing things
When we do things exceedingly and pour our energy into it, we fear failure or seek perfection.
For example: Trying to make our kids have full marks at school. We buy resources, search online for studying method, looking for recipes to boost thinking and memorizing ….etc. When the kid doesn’t have a mark, we wanted we get depressed and we feel everything we did didn’t pay off.
As a result, we get stressed and depressed.
We do things without rest
It’s related to the point above, when we overdo things or do things without rest we end up stressed and overwhelmed.
This exhaust our minds and feelings.
We deal with everything as if it was the end of the world
I’m not gonna act perfect, but don’t you sometimes overthink something and imagine a negative result then let it grow in your head?
After growing, You get stressed and depressed as if the world is ending and there isn’t a solution?
Whoever does that raise your hands? <<< Raising both hands.
We don’t express to others what bothers us
It’s nice to care about others’ feelings but the closer they are, the more care you should have. And there isn’t anyone closer to you than yourself.
If something upsets you then talk about it, don’t swallow negativity, you’re not a sponge.
I don’t encourage you to be rude but also you should open up and stop being afraid of losing others on the cost of your mental health.
So, Where do essential oils stand in all of this?
Essential oils are the free hugs whenever you are stressed, depressed, ill….etc.
Not totally free if you buy them lol
But let’s start but getting to know some of the benefits of essential oils.
They are used in healing stress and depression
Essential oils are well known for healing to depress and stress since ancient times.
Imagine yourself in a spa with a candlelit and the aroma of the essential oils around.
How would you feel?
There are many methods to use them
As for someone going through stress and depression, methods of using these oils differ and those methods will meet your abilities in one way or another.
You can defuse, inhale, shower, scrub, …etc the essential oils “will put up some combo and recipes”
So regardless of how you can use them, you will end up being able to use them.
Not all essential oils are expensive
I’m not going to mention certain brands and promote them, I actually just search and buy. As long as they are 100% essential oils then I’m good
And for that, I take some budget-friendly types.
In case you feel low on cash, this side hustle guide for moms will drag you up of your depression and worries
They are cheaper than medical sessions.
Going to medical sessions to relief your stress or cure your depression would be costly. But using essential oils will save you lots of money.
How can you use these essential oils?
You can use essential oils by diffusing the oil using diffusers
You can use an electric diffuser or the one with a candle.
A few drops with carrier oil will change your mood completely.
Adding a few drops in the water tub and sitting in the water for 30 minutes or more will relax your body, relief your stress and help with depression.
You can add a few drops of the essential oil on your palm, cup your face with this palm and inhale.
It’s a substitute to diffusers but as a candle maker, I noticed that in candles we need to add more essential oils because they are natural, and the candle needs plenty to show up the scent.
Or try this method if you want something to carry around or put next to your pillow
